Week 6 Athlete of the Week: Will Jarrett

Bentonville West, a team some wrote off this season because it has no seniors on its roster, is 2-1 in 7A-West play after a 42-40 win against Springdale High on Friday.

Sophomore quarterback Will Jarrett is the ARPreps.com Athlete of the Week after completing 21 of 29 passes for 332 yards and four touchdowns and also rushing for a touchdown in the first-year program’s second victory. The Wolverines’ only other touchdown was 99-yard interception return by junior Jason Gloeckler.

A close second for Athlete of the Week honors was Prairie Grove’s Zeke Laird, who was 12-of-17 passing for 270 yards and a school-record six touchdowns. The senior also had a 54-yard rushing touchdown in the Tigers’ 45-15 dismantling of previously unbeaten Shiloh Christian.

Here’s a look at other top performers from Week 6:

BRITTON CAUDILL, Pea Ridge, intercepted two passes that set up and pair of Blackhawks’ touchdowns in 46-16 win over Gravette.

PAYTON COPHER, Springdale Har-Ber, accounted for four touchdowns and 262 yards of offense in a win over Bentonville.

JAY DE LA ROSA, Rogers Heritage, caught three passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the War Eagles’ loss to Van Buren.

ISAAC DISNEY, Prairie Grove, Caught 3 passes for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and added a 42-yard interception return as the Tigers crushed Shiloh Christian 45-15.

WALTER GREEN, Van Buren, rushed for 143 yards on just 13 carries with a touchdown in a 32-14 victory against Rogers Heritage

HAYDEN HOLTGREWE, Pea Ridge, caught six passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns, and also intercepted a pass in the Blackhawks’ 46-16 win against Gravette.

LAYNE HUTCHINS, Springdale High, passed for 343 yards and four scores for the Bulldogs in loss to Bentonville West.

JADON JACKSON, Bentonville West, caught 12 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown.

ANTHONY JOHNSON, Prairie Grove ran for 101 yards on 15 carries in win over Shiloh Christian.

KAM’RON MAYS-HUNT, Bentonville, caught seven passes for 129 yards in a loss to Har-Ber.

ERICK MENDEZ, Springdale High, rushed for 159 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown in loss to Bentonville West.

CONNOR NOLAND, Greenwood, The Arkansas commitment completed 10 of 18 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs past Siloam Springs 42-0.

CANAAN ROSS, Bentonville, completed 14 of 17 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers’ loss to Har-Ber.

JAKOTA SAINSBURY, Pea Ridge, junior quarterback completed 7 of 16 passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns.

TREY SMITH, Springdale Har-Ber, caught seven passes for 105 yards and two scores in Har-Ber’s win over Bentonville.
