Thursday playoff game awaits Bentonville West

Bentonville West will host its quarterfinal playoff game one week from today at Tiger Stadium, Bentonville athletic director Scott Passmore said Thursday.

The Wolverines (9-1) will play that night against the winner of Friday’s first-round game between Rogers High and Conway. Kickoff will be scheduled for 7 p.m.

Passmore made that announcement Thursday morning after phone conversations with Arkansas Activities Association officials, as well as officials from both Rogers and Conway schools. Those schools agreed to play on Thursday, and the AAA approved the idea.

Had Rogers or Conway not approved a Thursday playing date for that game, the game would have been played on Saturday.

Bentonville (8-2), the No. 1 seed from the 7A-West Conference, will host its game the following night against the winner of Friday’s game between Springdale High and Cabot.
