Scott Bowlin's Wildcats are rolling. Har-Ber, 3-0 in the 7A-West, protected its homefloor against rival Springdale High and Bentonville High last week.

His club then traveled to central Arkansas and came back with an overtime win over Little Rock Christian. Har-Ber's winning streak has now reached seven games as week three of conference play begins.

First-year coach Jaime Green's Lady Wildcats are still in search of their first league win after another tough home loss Friday to Bentonville.

Springdale High capped the second week of 7A-West pay with a pair of big road wins at Bentonville West Friday.

Heather Hunsucker's Lady Red'Dogs continue to play well early on, and thanks large in part to Justin Bilyeu and Carl Fitch, the Red'Dogs stole a win on the road against the Wolverines.

Bilyeu scored 10 points in the fourth quarter Friday and knocked down a turn-around jumper with 3 seconds left to give Springdale a 39-38 win.

Marquesha Davis, again, tallied a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a runaway win over West. Through three games, the sophomore is averaging 19.6 … Continue Reading ››

Red'Dogs

Junior forward Carl Fitch scored a game-high 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and blocked 4 shots Friday in Springdale's league opener. Justin Bilyeu also added 11 points and 5 rebounds.

SPRINGDALE HIGH BOYS 'Rebuilding' would be the term best used to describe Jeremy Price's Springdale team this winter. Last year, Price floored a senior-laden club in a loaded 7A-West. The Red'Dogs won their way into the state tournament as a 4-seed, where they knocked off Conway and played eventual state champion Cabot down to the wire on the Panthers' home court. Gone now are those seniors, and a cast of fresh faces will have to carry the load. "We lost, I think, 12 seniors last year," Price said. "It was good having that age and we had a few kids with a little experience, … Continue Reading ››

The Wake Forest commit threw for five scores and ran for another in a 56-7 win over Springdale. Powell, who needs just two touchdown passes to tie Allen, played only the first half, but finished with video game-like numbers: 19/23, 296 yards, 5 TD, INT. He scampered in from 10 yards out late in the first quarter to give Fayetteville a 28-0 lead. He, alongside receiver Barrett Banister, led the Purple'Dog offense. SPRINGDALE – Bentonville struggled to move the ball in the first half against an energized Springdale defense. The Tigers, though, carried a 10-0 lead into the half.

And after the break, it was all Bentonville, scoring 21 in the third to run away from the Red'Dogs and hand them their third consecutive loss. WR Kam'Ron Mays-Hunt led the Tigers with eight catches for 86 yards and a touchdown in the third quarter to pull Bentonville's offense out of a funk.

Running backs Jacob Clark and Easton Miller handled it the rest of the way, rushing for four scores and totaling 152 yards … Continue Reading ››
