Springdale High two-way starter Jayden Minchew was all over the field during a 39-12 win at Van Buren on Friday. The 6-foot, 185-pounder caught five passes for a team-high 81 yards and he also led team with 15 tackles from his free safety position.
Minchew's performance helped snap a three-game losing streak for the Bulldogs as they improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in 7A-West play.

Shiloh Christian senior quarterback Connor Reece is the ARPreps.com Player of the Week after his performance in Friday’s 44-42 victory at Little Rock Christian.
Reece, a third-year starter, used his arms and his legs to move the chains throughout the game and during the game-winning drive in the final minute, which set up a 25-yard field goal by sophomore Patrick Williams with :24 seconds remaining in regulation.

Springdale’s Kyler Williams is the ARPreps.com Player of the Week for Week 1 of the 2016 high school football season.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder used his 4.5 speed to race for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns on six receptions in a 37-30 win at Conway. It was a rematch of last season’s opening round of the state playoffs, which the Wampus ‘Cats won 42-7.

Although it was a scrimmage and the final tally wasn't kept on the scoreboard, Springdale defeated Shiloh Christian 20-7 during the varisty portion of a benefit game at Jarrell Williams Bulldog Stadium on Tuesday.
The two teams from the same town but different conferences — the Saints play in the 4A-1 while the Bulldogs are in the 7A-West — ran 85 hurry-up, no-huddle plays during the two quarters both varsity squads were on the field.
