Little went right for Springdale Har-Ber Friday, and Fayetteville continued surging as the state tournament approaches, knocking off the conference-leading Wildcats 71-53 to cap the next to last week of conference action.

Har-Ber got 15 points from Ryan Taylor and 14 from Tyler Garrett, but Har-Ber shot just 28 percent (14/50) in the loss. Four Purple'Dogs reached double figures as they won their fourth straight game and clinched a spot in the state tournament.

The opening night of the second round of 7A-West play went largely without a hitch for Scott Bowlin's Wildcats Friday night.

Har-Ber cruised to a 66-46 win against Rogers High at home behind 18 points from junior Tyler Garrett and 16 from Tylor Perry. Four players finished in double figures as Har-Ber won its 11th game in its last 12 tries. The Wildcats sit at 7-1 in league play.

The final night of the first month of conference play went as expected at Springdale Har-Ber Friday.

Scott Bowlin's Wildcats cruised to a 52-38 win against Rogers Heritage, and Jaime Green's club got a big night from Dachelle Terry and Juliza and Juella Brown in a mercy-rule win.

Terry scored a game-high 10 points against the Lady War Eagles, and helped Har-Ber jump out to a 31-5 first-half lead. The Brown sisters combined for 14 points while Karrington Whaley and Khanni Shannon each added eight points.

Springdale Har-Ber was the place to be Friday night. The Wildcats overcame a 13-point halftime deficit to edge Fayetteville, 60-59, in overtime.

Har-Ber moved to 14-5 (5-0 7A-West), surpassing last season's win total with its ninth straight win. Ryan Taylor led the Wildcats with 14 points while Tylor Perry and Zane King added 13 and 12, respectively.

Jaime Green's Lady Wildcats ran into the Fayetteville buzzsaw Friday, falling 63-36. Dachelle Terry scored a team-high 12 points, building on a 13-point night at Bentonville West last Tuesday.

Scott Bowlin's Wildcats are rolling. Har-Ber, 3-0 in the 7A-West, protected its homefloor against rival Springdale High and Bentonville High last week.

His club then traveled to central Arkansas and came back with an overtime win over Little Rock Christian. Har-Ber's winning streak has now reached seven games as week three of conference play begins.

First-year coach Jaime Green's Lady Wildcats are still in search of their first league win after another tough home loss Friday to Bentonville.

Springdale Har-Ber boys The 7A-West is as wide open as its been in quite some time. And as of now, Springdale Har-Ber looks to be a serious preseason contender for the conference crown. Bowlin’s club finished under .500 last season in the loaded 7A-West as the Wildcats earned the league’s five seed in the state tournament. They then fell 56-53 to West Memphis in the opening round in Cabot. The conference isn’t nearly as loaded this winter, though, as Fayetteville and Bentonville stars Payton Willis and Malik Monk have moved on to Vanderbilt and Kentucky, respectively.
