Jeremy Price's young Springdale team dropped its fifth straight game Friday, falling to Van Buren, 47-34, behind Jordan West's game-high 18 points.

The Red'Dogs currently sit on the outside looking into the state tournament as the final week of the regular season begins. At 6-18 and 3-9 in league play, Springdale is still only a game behind Bentonville West in the standings with two games left, though. They'll need luck on their side to get in.

The Lady Red'Dogs had another setback at home Friday, losing to Jamilyn Kinney and Van Buren, 52-32. Springdale struggled mightily offensively, especially in the first quarter. … Continue Reading ››

Heather Hunsucker and Jeremy Price's young teams hit bumps in the road last week in 7A-West play.

The Lady Red'Dogs dropped their first two games in conference to Bentonville and Van Buren. Springdale led the Lady Tigers by as many as nine points in the fourth quarter, but Lauren Hargus, Krista Clark and Avery Hughes took control in the final five minutes.

Springdale then held Van Buren's star guard Jamilyn Kinney to nine points, but Lani Snowden scored a game-high 16 points in a 58-38 Lady Pointers win Friday.

Springdale forward Carl Fitch began his week with a 20-point effort in a loss … Continue Reading ››

Springdale High capped the second week of 7A-West pay with a pair of big road wins at Bentonville West Friday.

Heather Hunsucker's Lady Red'Dogs continue to play well early on, and thanks large in part to Justin Bilyeu and Carl Fitch, the Red'Dogs stole a win on the road against the Wolverines.

Bilyeu scored 10 points in the fourth quarter Friday and knocked down a turn-around jumper with 3 seconds left to give Springdale a 39-38 win.

Marquesha Davis, again, tallied a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a runaway win over West. Through three games, the sophomore is averaging 19.6 … Continue Reading ››

Here's what's coming up for Springdale this week:

Red'Dogs

Junior forward Carl Fitch scored a game-high 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and blocked 4 shots Friday in Springdale's league opener. Justin Bilyeu also added 11 points and 5 rebounds.

But coach Jeremy Price said his Red'Dogs wouldn't have much time to celebrate Friday's win thanks to a quick turnaround. Springdale heads across town to face rival Springdale … Continue Reading ››

SPRINGDALE HIGH BOYS 'Rebuilding' would be the term best used to describe Jeremy Price's Springdale team this winter. Last year, Price floored a senior-laden club in a loaded 7A-West. The Red'Dogs won their way into the state tournament as a 4-seed, where they knocked off Conway and played eventual state champion Cabot down to the wire on the Panthers' home court. "It was good having that age and we had a few kids with a little experience, … Continue Reading ››
