A first-round bye or not? A playoff game at home or one on the road? The right to play again or season completed? That's the questions that will be answered when Week 10 of the 7A-West Conference games transpire Friday night. Many of the playoff pictures became clearer after Friday's game, and now many teams know what they must do during their regular-season finales. Here's how things shape up for Northwest Arkansas' football teams heading into Friday's games: 7A-West Conference Springdale Har-Ber — Has clinched the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye. Bentonville/Fayetteville — The winner of Friday’s game earns the No. 2 seed and … Continue Reading ››

Since that is the case, I have limited everything to each team's best possible situation and its worst possible situation. Here is what I've come up with so far.  … Continue Reading ››

FAYETTEVILLE - Two runs in the first inning was all Harrison needed to win a state championship Saturday afternoon at Baum Stadium.

Hunter Humphrey and Silas Huskey had back-to-back RBI singles to give the Goblins a lead and Drew Fitzgerald turned in a gem on the mound to give the Goblins a 2-1 win over White Hall in the Class 5A state title game.

White Hall starting pitcher Daniel Sprinkle, last year's 5A state championship MVP and Auburn signee, was given a 1-0 lead thanks to Kirk Baugh's two-out home run in the first, but he couldn't … Continue Reading ››

I had the opportunity Friday morning to spend a couple of hours in Farmington, where I spoke with athletic director Brad Blew and coaches Mike Adams, Beau Thompson and Brad Johnson about the school's upcoming move to Class 5A status. Farmington has played its final game in the 4A-1 Conference and will be a member of the 5A-West Conference when classes resume in August. One of the dramatic changes Farmington faces will be the lack of a natural rival in the new league, basically because it's so spread out throughout about one-fourth of the state.
