Rogers High Coach Mike Loyd wasn't too concerned about the final score in last week's two-quarter scrimmage, but he's worked to correct several mistakes from the 7-3 loss at Russellville.

The Mounties started with six dropped passes in their first two offensive series and also gave up a pair of big plays on Russellville's final offensive series that lead to the only touchdown.

"We have a young football team and we'll get better," Loyd said. "A safety missed a call and didn't communicate. If they don't have their phones, they don't know how to communicate. It cost us even in a scrimmage.

"But we're … Continue Reading ››

Jeremy Price's young Springdale team dropped its fifth straight game Friday, falling to Van Buren, 47-34, behind Jordan West's game-high 18 points.

The Red'Dogs currently sit on the outside looking into the state tournament as the final week of the regular season begins. At 6-18 and 3-9 in league play, Springdale is still only a game behind Bentonville West in the standings with two games left, though. They'll need luck on their side to get in.

The Lady Red'Dogs had another setback at home Friday, losing to Jamilyn Kinney and Van Buren, 52-32. Springdale struggled mightily offensively, especially in the first quarter. … Continue Reading ››
