Jeremy Price's young Springdale team dropped its fifth straight game Friday, falling to Van Buren, 47-34, behind Jordan West's game-high 18 points.

The Red'Dogs currently sit on the outside looking into the state tournament as the final week of the regular season begins. At 6-18 and 3-9 in league play, Springdale is still only a game behind Bentonville West in the standings with two games left, though. They'll need luck on their side to get in.

The Lady Red'Dogs had another setback at home Friday, losing to Jamilyn Kinney and Van Buren, 52-32. Springdale struggled mightily offensively, especially in the first quarter. … Continue Reading ››

The last four games of the regular season have become a matter of survival for Bentonville West's boys.

The Wolverines (11-12, 4-6 7A-West) snapped out of a three-game tailspin Friday night by grinding out a 37-28 victory at Springdale High and improved their chances of going to the Class 7A state tournament in their inaugural season. West scored 17 points in the fourth quarter -- nine by Gabe Hornsby -- after being limited to just 20 points over the first three quarters of play.

The victory not only gives West a one-game lead over Springdale in the 7A-West standings, but the nine-point … Continue Reading ››

Bentonville West's boys may have hit a low spot last week, and the Wolverines must regroup fast.

West has lost five of its last six games and has gone from having a share of the 7A-West Conference lead to now having to fight for a spot in the Class 7A State tournament following its poorest offensive performance of the season -- a 36-25 loss at Van Buren.

The Wolverines, despite their offensive struggles, were still in the game through three quarters. West entered the fourth quarter with only a 23-21 deficit, but the Wolverines managed just four points over the final … Continue Reading ››

First-year coach Jaime Green's Lady Wildcats are still in search of their first league win after another tough home loss Friday to Bentonville.

CENTERTON — A high school basketball team whose most experienced player is the coach's son is a rather common sight to see. Hayden White is no exception this year, but he receives that label by default. That's because the junior guard came over from Gravette with his father Greg, who will coach Bentonville West's boys basketball team in its inaugural year.
