The regular season for baseball and softball is done (as are the seeds). Though there are only a handful of makeup games for soccer on Monday, all seemingly play a role in playoffs in both the 7A-Central and 7A-West. When Shyrah Schisler took over the Springdale Har-Ber volleyball program, she wanted to institute a toughness about her girls, and a no-excuses type team. She's done just that. Last season was, literally, a banner year for the Lady Wildcats, finishing as the 7A runner-up with a 28-6-1 record. Har-Ber had to leap certain hurdles to get to the state finals, and Schisler couldn't have been more proud of her group. Historically, Fayetteville has been known to produce state championship-level boys tennis teams, but coach Darin Phelan has that same feeling about the Lady Purple'Dogs this year. In 2016, he plans to send to the courts one of the strongest girls teams he's had since he's been coaching to compete for conference and possibly state championships.
