Springdale hired Adam Bumsted as its girls track and cross country coach on Wednesday.

Bumsted spent the previous eight years coaching the girls teams at Lingle Junior High in Rogers, where he also assisted with the boys track team. He fills the void left by Kim Peek’s resignation and becomes Springdale’s sixth girls coach in seven years, adding his name to a lengthy list Peek, Sarah Cole, Godfrey Siamusiye, Paige Rollins and Moe Henry.

Bumsted’s Lingle girls won the 2015 conference cross country title, while the boys track teams won two conference and regional titles during his tenure. Bumsted is a Maize, Kan., native and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a mathematics degree in 2007 and a masters in teaching in 2012.
