Rogers High sports this week – Feb. 13

The Rogers High Lady Mounties basketball team dropped a tough game to 7A-West leader Fayetteville on Friday, but remain in a third-place tie with Springdale HIgh.<br><br>

Rogers (14-9, 6-4 7A-West) travel to second-place Van Buren on Tuesday, but hosts Bentonville on Friday in what should be a big game.<br><br>

The Mounties (7-16, 0-10) are still looking for their first win in league play and have lost 11 straight.<br><br>

The Rogers wrestlers will participate in the ninth annual Class 6A-7A state tournament in Little Rock this weekend. The Mounties finished fifth out of 14 teams with 103.5 points in the Big West Conference tournament over the weekend. <br><br>

Sophomore Jake Turner (50-1) was the Mounties’ lone champion at 138 points. Matthew Hunter (160) and Carsen Smith (182) each finished second. <br><br>

The Rogers High swimming and diving team will also participate in the 6A-7A North District meet on Tuesday and Wednesday in Bentonville. <br><br>
