LAST YEAR’S RECORD: 19-8 overall, 9-5 7A-West.

KEY PLAYERS: CF Grayson Lee (Sr.), P/INF McKayden Templeton (Soph.), 3B Max Horton (Sr.), C/OF Colin McWhorter (Jr.)., P Mason Mitchell (Sr.).

TOP NEWCOMERS: INF Sal Jacobo (Fresh.), OF Quade Mosier (Fresh.).

THE SKINNY: The Mounties return just a couple of position players from a state tournament team, but they also have rigth-hander McKayden Templeton (3-2 1 SV 2.68 ERA 52.1 IP), who was a conference starter as a freshman.Seniors Grayson Lee (.452 1 HR 20 RBIs 30 RS) Max Horton are the lone holdovers, but coach Matt Melson will utilize nonconference games to figure out a solid lineup before 7A-West play begins in a couple weeks. The Mounties have some good team speed, which could help manufacture runsRogers opened the season Tuesday with a 10-0 win over Alma as Templeton threw five shutout innings and had three hits.
