Rogers Heritage War Eagles 2017 Season Preview

COACH: Jay Miles.

LAST YEAR”S FINISH: Finished seventh in the Class 7A state meet with 27.5 points.

KEY PERFORMERS: Liam Alderson (Jr.), Josh Palacios (Sr.), Kyle Fairchild (Jr.), Javier Hernandez (Sr.), James Parker (Sr.).

TOP NEWCOMERS: Jacob Thompson (Sr.), Adolfo Hertado (Soph.).

THE SKINNY: Alderson made the finals in the 110 hurdles at the state meet as a sophomore and could contend this year. He’s also making strides in the 300 hurdles, as well. Thompson moved from Green Forest and did well in the 800 meters at the indoor state meet. Hernandez, Parker and Thompson have given Miles reason to be excited about a strong 4 x 800 relay team. Hertado moved in this year and could factor in several events, Miles said.
