Rogers Heritage This Week Jan. 9

Both the Rogers Heritage War Eagles and Lady War Eagles had their 7A-West Conference openers get away in the fourth quarter on Friday.

The Heritage boys (8-6, 0-1 7A-West) actually led by one early in the final quarter before going scoreless over the final five-plus minutes. The Lady War Eagles (6-8, 0-1) were able to stay in contact until the Lady Red Bulldogs pulled way for the easy win.

Heritage will play host to crosstown rival Rogers High on Tuesday, then play at Van Buren on Friday.

The Heritage wrestlers finished third in the Crain Automotive Invitational in Fayetteville on Saturday, but will have a big week this week. The War Eagles face Bentonville and Bentonville West in a double dual on Tuesday, then dual Republic, Mo. and Raytown South (Mo.) on Saturday. Heritage will then participate in the Republic (Mo.) Invitational on Saturday.
