The War Eagles basketball team will try to bounce back from Friday’s 56-43 loss at Van Buren, but they will have to do it on the road as Heritage faces Fayetteville in Bulldog Arena on Tuesday.
Heritage (9-7, 1-2 7A-West) doesn’t have a league win away from War Eagle Arena yet this season. Its lone 7A-West win came Tuesday at home against crosstown rival Rogers High. Fayetteville is also 1-2 in the league, after falling to Bentonville 56-44 on Saturday at home in a make-up game.
The Lady War Eagles (6-10, 0-3) will be looking for their first league win period. They remain without leading scorer Brooke Menke, who remains sidelined with an ankle injury. Heritage coach Scott Moore also found out last week sophomore Aries Sanders will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. He’s hopeful Menke could return by the second round of conference play.
Heritage plays host to Bentonville West in a boys/girls doubleheader on Friday.
The Heritage wrestlers don’t have a varsity tournament next weekend, but will host Russellville and Greenwood for a double dual on Tuesday, then take on Fort Smith Northside and Fort Smith Southside on Thursday at Rogers High.
