Rogers Heritage Lady War Eagles 2017 Season Preview

COACH: Jeff Shaw.

LAST YEAR’S FINISH: Finished 12th at the Class 7A state meet, scoring 9.5 points.

KEY PERFORMERS: Maddi Ware (Sr.), Meredith Lakis (Sr.), Belen Guzman (Jr.).

TOP NEWCOMERS: Tayonna Wilson (Soph.), Nicole Morrison (Sr.).Kaitlyn Craft (Soph).

THE SKINNY: Wilson is the fastest female athlete Heritage has ever had, Shaw said. She will be busy in the sprints and horizontal jumps.Wilson set the 200 meter school record in the conference meet as a freshman, but didn’t qualify for the state meet. Ware could push to 3200, after running the 800 and mile last season. Morrison moved from Eureka Springs and could be a factor in several events. She competed in the heptathlon last spring. Craft runs a strong 400 and could push to the 800, too.
