GRAVETTE — Logan Hunt drifted back into perfect position as the pass floated his way. The Pottsville defensive back wrapped two hands around the ball and was off the races, covering 70 yards.

Hunt’s interception was one of four by the ball-hawking Apaches defense, but his counted for six points as Pottsville rolled to a 36-10 victory over Gravette in the season opener for both teams Friday night in Lions Stadium.

Har-Ber Trails Webb City 28-7 at halftime

WEBB CITY, Mo. — Webb City used two long touchdown runs and a scoring pass with no time left in the second quarter to take a 28-7 lead over Springdale Har-Ber at halftime.

Quarterback Tyson Roderique scored an 82-yard run and Kaleb Potts followed with touchdown runs of 13 and 50 yards to give Webb City the early momentum. Har-Ber scored on a 53-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Daniels to Luke Hannon, but Daniels threw an interception late in the second quarter to give Webb City another opportunity.

NLR Football Bus Accident

One of two buses carrying the North Little Rock football team was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 Thursday.

The Charging Wildcats were on their way to War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock to play Little Rock Catholic in their first game of the 2014 season when the accident occurred.

None of the players were injured, but offensive coordinator Blake Pizan suffered head lacerations and was treated at UAMS.

Alma 28, Poteau (Okla.) 0

Every time Poteau (Okla.) threatened to score, Alma's defense responded in a big way Thursday night at Mayo-Thompson Stadium in Fort Smith.

Thanks to several turnovers and fourth-down stops, the Airedales cruised to a 28-0 win in the final Hooten's Kickoff Classic game of the week.

Alma (1-0) jumped out to a 15-0 lead with 5:58 left in the first quarter, with a touchdown pass from Evan Burris to Heath Friddle, a two-point conversion and a one-yard run by Curtis Lloyd. Lloyd's touchdown came after he intercepted a Poteau pass at the Pirates' 33-yard line.
