Bentonville 49, Rogers High 0

BENTONVILLE — Austin Bugos admitted he might have raced downfield a little bit faster than expected, but the ball from Chase Hunter might have been a little under thrown, as well.

It didn’t matter. The two connected for a 76-yard touchdown pass on Bentonville’s first offensive play Friday night, and the Tigers went on to post a 49-0 victory over Rogers High during 7A-West Conference play at Tiger Stadium.

“The play worked really well, and it was good to be back at 100 percent,” said Bugos, who missed the first four weeks of the season with a leg injury. “It looked for … Continue Reading ››

Pea Ridge 49, Berryville 2

PEA RIDGE — After two emotional road victories over Gravette and Prairie Grove the last two weeks, Pea Ridge coach Tony Travis was worried the Blackhawks would suffer a Homecoming letdown against Berryville on Friday night.

It didn’t happen as Pea Ridge was clicking on all cylinders against the Bobcats.

Pea Ridge needed just four plays from scrimmage and a blocked punt return for a touchdown for a 21-0 lead 4 minutes, 44 seconds into the game and the Blackhawks never looked back in defeating Berryville 49-2 in a 4A-1 Conference game at Blackhawk Stadium.

Pea Ridge (8-0, 5-0 4A-1) had 345 yards … Continue Reading ››

The Tigers’ senior did a little bit of everything, in all facets of the football game. And West Fork needed him to, as Crawford’s big plays on offense, defense and special teams made a huge difference in a 28-18 win over rival Elkins at John Bunch Memorial Field.

Crawford caught two touchdown passes from 19 and 38 yards out from quarterback Colton Wise, part of his 9 reception, 155-yard total on the night. The senior also had two interceptions on defense to help stall two Elkins’ drives deep in West … Continue Reading ››
