Springdale senior Chris Owens picked up his second football offer Friday from Pitt State.
Owens and the Bulldogs wrapped up a three-day camp at the Division II school Friday afternoon when the 6-foot-3 cornerback received the offer. He received his first football offer from Central Oklahoma on May 29.
Owens said Pitt State coaches wanted to try to split the scholarship with the basketball program so he could continue to play both sports. A two-sport standout at Springdale, Owens already has two basketball offers, including a Division I offer from Oral Roberts.
He averaged a team-high 12.6 points per game on the basketball court for the 7A state runner-up Bulldogs as a junior, while finishing with 29 tackles, four pass breakups, two interceptions and a fumble returned for a touchdown on the football field.
