LITTLE ROCK Coach Rick Jones summed up the performance when talking about H-back Drew Morgan.
"He just has an extra gear," Jones said of his senior.
Morgan's extra gear accounted for a bulk of the Bulldog's yards and the game-sealing touchdown in their 34-21 victory over Little Rock Parkview at War Eagle Stadium.
Morgan finished with 212 total yards — 153 receiving, 59 rushing — and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (4-0, 2-0 7A/6A Central) and provided the 6-yard score that capped the scoring with 4:42 left in the game.
The Patriots (3-2, 1-1) came out with an effective attack of their own. Rashad Earls provided the early spark on a 61-yard run that set up Parkview's first score. The Patriots also took advantage of the deep-ball, scoring on passes of 67 and 46 yards, both to Jacobi Davis.
The squads went into halftime tied 21-21.
After a scoreless third quarter, Greenwood quarterback Jabe Burgess hit Cole McAllister for a 5-yard touchdown, then Morgan finished it off on the Bulldogs' next possession following a blocked punt.
Earls finished with 138 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.
