BENTONVILLE’S BACKFIELD BACKUPS READY IF NEEDED

Bentonville opens its regular season Friday night with two givens concerning its offensive backfield: Reece Dollins will start at quarterback, and Tearris Wallace will be the primary tailback.

POSITION BATTLE: OFFENSIVE BACKFIELD

The Skinny

Watch Out For: Sophomore tailback Dylan Smith, who filled in for Tearris Wallace during Friday’s scrimmage and scored both Bentonville touchdowns.

Biggest Strength: Variety at tailback. Bentonville can go a number of ways if it wants to give Wallace a breather or if he is injured, whether it’s Smith, Garrett Kaufman or Hekili Keliiliki.

Biggest Question: Who will be Bentonville’s backup quarterback behind Reece Dollins? Jake Slocum is it for now, but Derek Hembry is making a heavy push for that spot.
