HERITAGE LINEBACKERS WORK TO BE BIGGER, STRONGER
Rogers Heritage assistant coach Scott Davenport said his linebackers made a strong commitment to getting bigger and stronger in the offseason. Now he hopes that pays dividends on the field on Friday night.
POSITION BATTLE: LINEBACKERS
Watch Out For: Senior Utah Julius. His position called stud in the Heritage scheme has evolved into more of a linebacker than defensive back, which fits his mentality better. Julius earned all-conference honors and led the War Eagles with 86 tackles a year ago.
Biggest Strength: All three linebackers are returning starters, so experience won’t be a problem. In addition, they are bigger and stronger than a year ago.
Biggest Question: Lack of depth is an issue, so keeping the starters healthy will be a key. That could be especially difficult at a position that’s known for physical contact.
