CONWAY Shiloh Christian quarterback Casey Paraday threw a pair of touchdowns to receiver Ryan Michaelis in the closing minutes, and the Saints overcame a double-digit fourth quarter deficit to beat Warren 26-25 at Estes Stadium on Monday.
Paraday led an 87-yard drive that ended with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Michaelis with 42 seconds remaining, giving the Saints the lead for good.
Michaelis' 50-yard touchdown reception had pulled Shiloh Christian within 25-20 with 3:49 remaining in the fourth quarter. After failing to convert an onside kick, the Saints' defense held Warren to a three-and-out, setting up the game-winning drive.
After falling behind 14-6 in the second quarter, Warren used a stellar running attack to stake a 25-14 fourth quarter lead.
Sophomore running back Kilay Cox gave the Lumberjacks the lead on a 15-yard touchdown run with 10:07 remaining in the fourth quarter, and scored again from 1-yard out to extend the lead with 4:44 left.
Cox finished the game with 23 carries for 308 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Shiloh Christian (1-0) will travel to Broken Bow, Okla., next Friday, while Warren (0-1) will host Pulaski Academy.
