SPRINGDALE HAR-BER QUARTERBACKS PUSH EACH OTHER TO GET BETTER

On the heels of losing seniors Austin Mayfield and John Vaughn, who split time at quarterback for Springdale Har-Ber last season, Kyle Pianalto and Pierce Phillips are battling for the job this fall.

POSITION BATTLE: BACKFIELD

The Skinny

WATCH OUT FOR: Junior quarterback Kyle Pianalto brings athleticism to the backfield, making the transition from cornerback to quarterback.

BIGGEST STRENGTH: Tucker Lee. In a league full of good running backs like Tearris Wallace at Bentonville and Bryce Gahagans at Fayetteville, Lee only adds to the running back prowess in the 7A/6A-West and has a chance to become the all-time leading rusher at Har-Ber.

BIGGEST QUESTION: With the departure of Austin Mayfield and John Vaughn, who combined for 2,817 yards of offense and 32 touchdowns last season, a lack of experience at quarterback raises a question for the Wildcats. Pianalto and senior Pierce Phillips will compete for playing time.
