Returning Starters: Jaylin Bridges (junior, 5-6), “She’s a very good defender, very aggressive, very assertive,” Crowder said. Ellie Taylor (junior, 5-11), “She just does everything a coach asks her to do,” she said. “She’s a very steady player.” Sydney Wacker (junior, 5-10), “Sydney is a very good defender, a very good rebounder for us,” Crowder said.
Best inside players: Wacker, Taylor and Melissa Wolff (6-1) “She plays wherever we need her to play,” Crowder said. “She worked really hard this summer to be a better defender.”
Best outside players: Lewis, Bridges, Micah Odum, “She’s a very good outside shooter; she’s a real tough and physical player,” she said; and Lacy Boyett, “She’s really quick and a good outside shooter,” Crowder said.
Match or exceed from last year: “We feel like we’re going to be better than last year,” she said. “The girls have been working really hard.”
Team Strengths: “I think our strength is going to be our depth and our defense,” she said. “We’ve worked really hard on rebounding.”
Team Weakness: “I think we’ve got to be consistent offensively, keep our intensity and communicate,” she said.
Toughest Opponents: Russellville, she said. “They’re very competitive and they’ve got five starters back,” she said.
College Prospects: Boyett, Bridges, Taylor and Odum. Wolff has committed to the University of Arkansas.
