Beebe Lady Badgers
October 30, 2011
Coach: Greg Richey (1st year)
Last year’s record: Fifth in conference
Assistant coach: Janet Pankey, Tonya May and Fran Howard
Returning starters: Jamie Jackson (junior) was the team’s leading scorer last season, Richey said.
Match or exceed from last year: “My hope is that through a tough nonconference schedule that includes Russellville, Little Rock Christian, Vilonia, Hot Springs Lakeside, Sylvan Hills and three tournaments that we will gain some experience and consistency before we start our conference schedule,” he said.
Team strengths: “The team will be lead by seniors Sarah White, Alexis Miguel, Miranda Spriggs, Beth Mitchell and Ashley Purcell,” he said. “and juniors Kelsey Brockway, Whitney Emison, Annlee Glass, Kaley Fanguy, Kacy Simpson and Sydney Gunter.”
Team weakness: “This is a young team that has the ability to give a lot of teams trouble, but with a lot of inexperience that could lead to some inconstancy,” Richey said.
Toughest opponents: “The predicted top teams in the conference should be Paragould and Greene County Tech,” he said. “The other six teams are pretty even and should provide for a tough battle to get the third and fourth spot to get a state bid.”
