Returning starters: Gabrielle Scales (junior, 5-10), all-state, all-conference and all-district; Nancy Caroll (junior, 5-7), all-conference and all-district; and Shakeena Johnson (junior, 5-7), all-conference and all-district.

Best inside players: Scales (17 points per game)

Best outside players: Carroll, 12 points per game, and Johnson, 4 steals

Match or exceed from last year: With the members of the team returning from last year, experience will be the key to this team. We should advance further in the state championship this year.

Team strength: Experience and speed.

Team weakness: Height.

Toughest opponents: Hughes and Carlisle. The Lady Red Devils split with both opponents last year to come in second in the district.

Game to watch: Hughes. They have experience and depth at all positions.

College prospects: Scales. She has a 3.5 grade-point average and can play at three positions: guard, small forward and power forward.
