Fayetteville 35, Conway 0 – Recap with Full Stats

Fayetteville marched through the Class 7A quarterfinal round with ease on Friday, pitching a defensive shutout in a 35-0 win at Harmon Stadium against Conway.

The Purple’Dogs (10-1) held the Wampus Cats (4-8) to just 168 yards of total offense, with a good chunk of that coming on a final drive which ate up nearly the entire fourth quarter after Fayetteville had the sportsmanship clock rule in effect.

Taylor Powell was 13-of-21 passing for 221 yards and four TDs, with Brennon Lewis having three catches for 74 yards and two TDs and Terrance Rock finishing with 77 rushing yards on 15 carries and three catches for 72 yards and two TDs.

Story of the night, though, was Fayetteville’s dominant D, led by the big guys up front on the D-line who simply overpowered Conway all night long.
