The Lady Mounties started the second round of 7A-West Conference play with a win at Springdale Har-Ber to remain tied for third place.

Rogers (13-8, 5-3 7A-West) will try to keep pace with the Lady Red Bulldogs when its plays host to crosstown rival Rogers Heritage, which has lost eight straight and is sitting in last place. The Mounties (7-14, 0-8) will be trying to snap a nine-game skid when they take on the War Eagles. Rogers travels to Fayetteville on Friday.

The War Eagles basketball team started the second half of 7A-West Conference play on the right note with a 49-35 win over Springdale High on Friday at War Eagle Arena.

Heritage (12-9, 4-4 7A-West) are currently alone in fourth place and will get set to travel to crosstown rival Rogers High on Tuesday.

The Lady War Eagles (6-15, 0-8 7A-West) will try to snap an eight-game skid when they face the Lady Mounties. Heritage plays host to Van Buren on Friday.

Dual State teams set   Bentonville coach James Rappe acknowledged his team will come into Saturday's Arkansas High School Wrestling Coaches/Officials Association Dual State Tournament with a target on its back.

The Tigers (35-6) are the No. 1 seed form the West and undefeated against Arkansas opponents. They will take on Little Rock Catholic, the No. 4 seed from the Central in the opening round. Other first-round matchups include Searcy (No. 1-Centra) vs. Rogers Heritage, Rogers High vs. Conway and defending champion Springdale Har-ber facing Bryant.

The War Eagles and Lady War Eagles basketball team have Tuesday off because of a lack of bad weather this winter.

The 7A-West Conference built in an extra date to allow for a make-up date if necessary, but it has not yet been needed. The Heritage boys (11-9, 3-4 7A-West) sit in a three-way tie for fourth with Springdale and Bentonville West as the second round of league play begins Friday.

Heritage will host Springdale High on Friday. The Red Bulldogs knocked off the War Eagles to begin conference play.

The Lady Mounties (12-8, 4-3 7A-West Conference) begin the second round of league play in a three-way tie for third with Springdale and Bentonville. Rogers travels to Springdale Har-Ber on Friday to begin the second round. The Lady Mounties won a tight game against Har-Ber at King Arena earlier this season.

Springdale High The Red Bulldogs are coming off a tough weekend in which they won just one of six duals against tough competition in the Owasso (Okla.) Ram Duals, but coach Josh Rivers is encouraged. The War Eagles basketball team is coming off a good weeks with back-to-back wins.

Heritage (11-7, 3-2 7A-West Conference) defeated Fayetteville and Bentonville West, but now finish the first round of league play against the top two teams. The War Eagles host Bentonville on Tuesday, then travel to league leading Springdale Har-Ber.

The Lady War Eagles (6-12, 0-5) are still searching for their first conference win, after dropping a 60-53 decision to Bentonville West on Friday. It was the Lady Wolverines' first 7A-West win in school history and left Heritage all alone in last place.
