The Lady Mounties picked up a tough win to begin 7A-West Conference play, but it doesn't slow down with games at crosstown rival Rogers Heritage and against league favorite Fayetteville this week.
Rogers High (9-5, 1-0 7A-West Conference) hit 9 of 15 3-pointers and made plays down the stretch to open league play with a 54-52 win over Springdale Har-Ber. The Lady Mounties also benefited from having senior leading scorer Elise Randels back from a dislocated left thumb. She added nine points, despite still having the left hand wrapped.
Farmington’s Matt Wilson has been named the ARPreps.com Athlete of the Week after leading the Cardinals to the Tony Chachere’s Classic title over the weekend.
The senior sharpshooter averaged 29.3 points per game during the three-day event in Farmington and averaged more than 30 points per game during the Cardinals' four games last week.
Wilson becomes the first player from his high school and first non-football honoree of our weekly award during the 2016-17 school year.

Pea Ridge senior running back Zaine Holley has rushed for more than 3,000 yards the past two seasons and leads the Blackhawks' into the Class 4A state championship against Warren.

Pea Ridge took a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter and made it stand up for a 30-13 win over Shiloh Christian. The win wrapped up the No. 2 playoff seed for the Blackhawks, who will host Arkadelphia in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs next week.
Drew Winn rushed for 124 yards on 11 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns, including a 73-yard touchdown run on the Blackhawks' second offensive play. Zaine Holley added 79 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns for Pea Ridge (9-1, 6-1).
