The following is a list of schools that have submitted bids to the Arkansas Activities Association to host state or regional tournaments for this winter, spring and some fall events. The AAA will announce which schools will earn the right to host these tournaments at 2 p.m. Thursday at its office in North Little Rock.

Not all tournaments received bids, and the AAA will fill those vacancies at a later date.

Bentonville has been denied the opportunity to win a third consecutive MaxPreps Cup title this year.

Portland (Ore.) Jesuit ended Bentonville's run and claimed this year's claim to the nation's top athletic program. Jesuit finished with 1,122 points, while Bentonville had 958 points.

The MaxPreps Cup uses state championship performances and national rankings to determine the nation's top overall high school sports programs, and not all sports are used to determine this rankings. It is determined by ranking all schools that win a state championship or finish second at the state level.

Springdale hired Adam Bumsted as its girls track and cross country coach on Wednesday.

Bumsted spent the previous eight years coaching the girls teams at Lingle Junior High in Rogers, where he also assisted with the boys track team. He fills the void left by Kim Peek’s resignation and becomes Springdale’s sixth girls coach in seven years, adding his name to a lengthy list Peek, Sarah Cole, Godfrey Siamusiye, Paige Rollins and Moe Henry.

Forward Ishine McFarlane inked with Allen Community College, choosing the Kansas junior college over several other schools. Guard Devon Young signed with the track program at Kansas City-based Avilla University, where he also plans to continue his basketball career.
