The Lady Mounties started the second round of 7A-West Conference play with a win at Springdale Har-Ber to remain tied for third place.

Rogers (13-8, 5-3 7A-West) will try to keep pace with the Lady Red Bulldogs when its plays host to crosstown rival Rogers Heritage, which has lost eight straight and is sitting in last place. The Mounties (7-14, 0-8) will be trying to snap a nine-game skid when they take on the War Eagles. Rogers travels to Fayetteville on Friday.

The following is a list of schools that have submitted bids to the Arkansas Activities Association to host state or regional tournaments for this winter, spring and some fall events. The AAA will announce which schools will earn the right to host these tournaments at 2 p.m. Thursday at its office in North Little Rock.

Bentonville has been denied the opportunity to win a third consecutive MaxPreps Cup title this year.

Portland (Ore.) Jesuit ended Bentonville's run and claimed this year's claim to the nation's top athletic program. Jesuit finished with 1,122 points, while Bentonville had 958 points.

The MaxPreps Cup uses state championship performances and national rankings to determine the nation's top overall high school sports programs, and not all sports are used to determine this rankings. It is determined by ranking all schools that win a state championship or finish second at the state level.

The defending champion was down in the fall, but it’s not out yet.

Bentonville, who was unranked in the MaxPreps Cup standings when the fall sports were completed, vaulted itself to the No. 6 spot after the winter sports were finished and is within striking distance of winning that title a third consecutive year. The two-time defending MaxPreps Cup champion finished fall sports with state titles in girls tennis and girls cross country and a state runnerup in boys cross country.

Springdale High is entering the Class 7A state swimming and diving meet today and Saturday on the heels of a third-place coed finish at the 7A-West meet, the program’s best finish since 2004.

The Bulldogs boys and girls teams won two invitationals and also earned a dual-meet victory while compiling more than 150 personal bests throughout the year with a 33-person roster comprised of just four seniors. The girls team recorded their fourth straight top-three finish at the conference meet.

Northwest Arkansas had three of the state's five top finishers in the MaxPreps Cup standings for the 2014-15 school year, according to Monday's announcement.

Bentonville, which became the first school in the country to win back-to-back MaxPreps Cup titles, was an overwhelming winner after corrections were made in the point totals. Bentonville finished with 1,202 points after originally being announced with 1,092 points in the original release.

Pulaski Academy was a distant second with 418 points, followed by Fayetteville with 404, Siloam Springs with 388 and Lake Hamilton with 332.
