Bentonville's softball players had the right to be a little giddy after Tuesday's big game at the Tiger Athletic Complex. The celebration was on moments after Lady Tigers claimed a 4-2 victory over Van Buren. They had just won the 7A/6A-West Conference championship in a game coach Kent Early called "a heavyweight battle" and earned the league's No. 1 seed in the Class 7A State Tournament.
