Springdale High’s Layne Hutchins becomes our first back-to-back winner of the ARPreps.com Tweet of the Week (disclaimer: and it’s not just because we had lunch together.)

It’s also the first time we’ve had two tweets take the honor, but as readers will see below, both tweets together is what makes Hutchins extra lucky on St. Patrick’s Day.

Springdale High quarterback Layne Hutchins is a regular in the Tweets of the Week feature.

Fayetteville High's Jasmine Franklin's dominating double-double vaulted the Lady Bulldogs into the Class 7A State Championship.

The 6-foot-1 junior forward was 5-of-7 from the floor to finished with 13 points in a 49-40 win over Little Rock Central. She also had a whopping 19 rebounds, including 11 of team’s 22 offensive boards, in only 20 minutes of action. In the quarterfinals, Franklin had 10 points.

For her effort, Franklin is the ARPreps.com Athlete of the Week.

The Lady Bulldogs (27-2), winners of 19 straight, are three wins away from a state championship. They won the 7A-West with the program’s ninth undefeated conference championship run. They earned a bye into the quarterfinals and will take on the Conway (4th-Central)/Springdale Har-Ber (5th-West) winner at 4 p.m. on Friday.
