BETWEEN THE LINES Shiloh Christian opened the season with a rousing 77-49 win against Charleston. … Saints quarterback Connor Reece ran for two scores and passed for two more in the win over Charleston. … Junior RB Broc Berus scored four touchdowns for the Saints. … Shiloh gave up 49 points to Charleston, but the Saints’ run defense allowed just 116 yards on the ground. … Bastrop lost its opener 57-56 to Bossier City (La.) Parkway on a touchdown pass with six seconds left. … The Rams led by two touchdowns, but could not hold off Parkway despite rolling up 710 yards of offense. … Bastrop QB Jerry Powell connected with Alfroncius Dowles on a pair of touchdown passes for the Rams, and Arkansas target Isaiah Graham caught eight passes for 99 yards and a score. … Bastrop won three consecutive state titles from 2005-07. … Brad Bradshaw, who led the program to the state titles, is back as the head coach after leaving following the 2009 season.
