Barbaree resigns at Carlisle

One of the state’s top small school programs is looking for a new football coach.

Brandon Barabaree has resigned after only one season coaching the Bison, according to multiple reports. Former Arkansas Democrat-Gazette high school football reporter Robert Yates reported on Twitter that Barbaree will accept the middle school principal job in Pangburn.

The Bison were 12-2 last season and reached the semifinals of the Class 2A playoffs. Carlisle beat Marked Tree, Conway Christian and Rison in the postseason before a 38-23 loss to eventual state champion Junction City.

Carlisle has won 76 games over the last seven seasons.
