Here is my disclaimer - my numbers are unofficial. The athletic directors and AAA officials will make the final determinations as what the seeds are as well as settle any tiebreakers.

We have a couple of close tiebreakers in the 7A-Central Boys and the 7A-West Boys. In fact, the … Continue Reading ››

Russellville 45, Benton 15 – Recap with stats

The Cyclones (11-1) punched their ticket to the 6A championship game with an impressive win over the Panthers (8-5). This will be the first time that Russellville has reached the state finals and the first time the school has won 11 games in a football season. The Cyclones face Greenwood (12-0), who gave RHS its only loss of the season, a 27-24 decision at Greenwood. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 3 at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium.   2016-11-25-russellville-benton-box-score

Bentonville 31, FS Northside 10 (recap with stats)

Another year, another season of Bentonville in the semifinals. The Tigers (10-2) reached the 7A semifinals for the ninth time in the last 10 seasons with the dominating victory over the Grizzlies (7-3). Bentonville travels to Fayetteville for the 7A semifinals on Friday. One key stat was Bentonville's offense possessing the ball for 30:11 of the 48-minute game. The Tigers simply controlled the ball and never let Northside get any big plays or rhythm on offense. The Tigers ran 72 plays (for 344 yards) while Northside was limited to 43 plays (and 195 total yards). That may be the formula for Bentonville next week … Continue Reading ››

Arkansas Prep FB Playoff Scenarios

At the outset, let me say the following scenarios are NOT 100 percent conclusive. Though I feel comfortable with the ones listed here, there are potentially hundreds (if not thousands) of scenarios where 208 teams in 26 conferences can finish in terms of conference seeding. With that disclaimer, let’s get to it: Here is the link to the Arkansas Activities Association tiebreaker procedures. CLASS 7A 7A-Central – The top 2 seeds are clinched as top-seed North Little Rock and second-seeded Fort Smith Northside has each earned a first-round bye. Bryant is the 3 seed with a win over Conway, but a … Continue Reading ››

FS Southside 48, LR Central 39 (Game Stats)

The two teams combined for 1,008 yards (Southside 508, LR Central 500), but it was the Mavs who blew the game open in the third quarter, leading 48-26 before the Tigers rallied for a pair of scores in the fourth quarter. With the win, Southside keeps its playoff hopes alive. The Mavericks need to beat Northside, which it has done for 11 games over a 10-year span, or have Central beat LR Catholic to clinch a playoff berth. 2016-10-28-southside-central-box-score
