When Shyrah Schisler took over the Springdale Har-Ber volleyball program, she wanted to institute a toughness about her girls, and a no-excuses type team. She's done just that. Last season was, literally, a banner year for the Lady Wildcats, finishing as the 7A runner-up with a 28-6-1 record. Historically, Fayetteville has been known to produce state championship-level boys tennis teams, but coach Darin Phelan has that same feeling about the Lady Purple'Dogs this year. In 2016, he plans to send to the courts one of the strongest girls teams he's had since he's been coaching to compete for conference and possibly state championships.
