Springdale Har-Ber This Week

Little went right for Springdale Har-Ber Friday, and Fayetteville continued surging as the state tournament approaches, knocking off the conference-leading Wildcats 71-53 to cap the next to last week of conference action.

Har-Ber got 15 points from Ryan Taylor and 14 from Tyler Garrett, but Har-Ber shot just 28 percent (14/50) in the loss. Four Purple'Dogs reached double figures as they won their fourth straight game and clinched a spot in the state tournament.

Springdale High This Week

Jeremy Price's young Springdale team dropped its fifth straight game Friday, falling to Van Buren, 47-34, behind Jordan West's game-high 18 points.

The Red'Dogs currently sit on the outside looking into the state tournament as the final week of the regular season begins. At 6-18 and 3-9 in league play, Springdale is still only a game behind Bentonville West in the standings with two games left, though. They'll need luck on their side to get in.

THE TOP LINE: Springdale High girls 64, Bentonville High 61

Lady Red'Dogs senior Haley Dougan's 3-pointer as time expired lifted Springdale to a big win at Bentonville High Tuesday, avenging a January home loss to the Lady Tigers in similar fashion. Dougan scored 15 points, rebounding from a pair of scoreless games last week.

Springdale High Basketball – Week of Feb. 13

Heather Hunsucker's Lady Red'Dogs rebounded from Tuesday's loss to Springdale Har-Ber with a 60-45 win against Bentonville West. The win moves Springdale to 12-11 overall and 6-4 in 7A-West play.

Marquesha Davis led all scorers with 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting and seven rebounds. Jeniya Gause and Sarah Vogel each added 10 points in the win as well. A big week lies ahead of Springdale. Hunsucker will need contributions all around.

Springdale Har-Ber Basketball – Week of Feb. 13

Har-Ber sophomore Tylor Perry drove the lane in the final seconds of overtime Friday at Bentonville High, tossing a layup softly off the glass. The result? Sole possession of first place in the 7A-West.

Perry scored a game-high 25 points, including the game-winner in an overtime thriller over the Tigers. Har-Ber rallied from 17 points down in the win. Tyler Garrett added 16 points, and is averaging a touch over 16 in his last three games. Now, Har-Ber has to avoid two losses over its final four games to earn a conference title.

First-year Har-Ber coach Jaime Green and the Lady Wildcats earned a big win at rival Springdale High Tuesday. Guard Maci Mains returned from a foot injury to score eight points and lead Har-Ber to its third win in 7A-West play.

Springdale Har-Ber Basketball – Week of Feb. 6

The opening night of the second round of 7A-West play went largely without a hitch for Scott Bowlin's Wildcats Friday night.

Har-Ber cruised to a 66-46 win against Rogers High at home behind 18 points from junior Tyler Garrett and 16 from Tylor Perry. Four players finished in double figures as Har-Ber won its 11th game in its last 12 tries. The Wildcats sit at 7-1 in league play.

Springdale High Basketball – Week of Feb. 6

Heather Hunsucker's Lady Red'Dogs opened the second half of 7A-West play in impressive fashion. Springdale's win at Rogers Heritage Friday was its fourth road win in league play in five tries.

Marquesha Davis scored a game-high 21 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and also came away with seven steals in the 52-35 win. Davis averaged 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5.5 steals in two games against the Lady War Eagles.

The Charging Wildcats held off Central on the road Tuesday to remain in first place in the 7A-Central. North Little Rock moves to 16-5 overall and 6-1 in conference play. The 16 wins is the most of any class 7A team.
