Rapid Report: Bentonville West 42, Springdale High 40

BENTONVILLE – Bentonville West withstood a late Springdale rally Friday and got a huge pass breakup on a two-point conversion attempt to secure a 42-40 win against the Bulldogs at Bentonville High School. Will Jarrett passed for 332 yards and four touchdowns, and ran for another for the Wolverines (2-4, 2-1 7A-West). Jadon Jackson caught one of Jarrett's TD passes among his 12 receptions for 198 yards. Layne Hutchins passed for 343 yards and four scores for Springdale (3-3, 1-2). Erick Mendez rushed for 159 yards on 18 carries with a TD.

RAPID REPORT: Springdale Har-Ber 29, Bentonville 15

SPRINGDALE – Payton Copher's four total touchdowns and Har-Ber's tough defense carried the Wildcats to a 29-15 win over Bentonville Friday. The win sits Har-Ber atop the 7A-West with four weeks to go. Fayetteville pays a visit to Wildcat Stadium in two weeks. Copher threw for 110 yards and rushed for 152 more, breaking an 8-3 Har-Ber lead open with a 67-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Rapid Report: Springdale Har-Ber 38, Springdale High 7

SPRINGDALE – Springdale Har-Ber moved to 4-1 and 2-0 in 7A-West action Friday night, beating rival Springdale High, 38-7.

The Wildcats used a pair of pick-6s and established the passing game early to jump out to a 38-0 halftime lead. With under one minute to play in the half, Har-Ber kicker Jesus Zizumbo connected on a 51-yard field goal after the ball bounced off the crossbar and through the uprights.

Springdale's Garrett Vaughan added the lone score for the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter, setting the final score with a three-yard touchdown run.

Rapid Report: Springdale High 42, Rogers Heritage 21

SPRINGDALE – Kyler Williams' 10 catches for 265 yards and three touchdowns led Springdale to a 42-21 win over Rogers Heritage Friday to open 7A-West play. Bulldog quarterback Layne Hutchins – 12/19, 321 yards, 4 TD – found Williams twice in the first half and once again from 68 yards out to seal win No. 3 for Springdale and drop Heritage to 0-4. Springdale's defense forced four turnovers in the win as well, and has been a big factor in the Bulldogs surpassing last season's win total through just four weeks. Bentonville High Tigers attempt to reach full strength

Bentonville was without three starters last week when the Tigers completed nonconference play with a 19-7 victory at Conway.

Senior tailback Jacob Clark, linebacker Jared Ritchie and defensive lineman Jack Patterson were on the sidelines last week with injuries, and Bentonville coach Jody Grant is hopeful his team will be in better health this week for its 7A-West Conference opener Friday at Fayetteville.
