Bentonville Bentonville’s girls came back from spring break ready to score goals — in bunches.

The Lady Tigers (7-1, 4-0) celebrated their home opener with a 7-1 victory over Springdale Har-Ber, then came back to record a 4-0 road win over Springdale High to remain unbeaten in 7A-West Conference play.

Coach Kristina Henry was more surprised with how many players scored against Har-Ber than she was the margin of victory. Seven different players scored a goal, including four in a 7-minute span in the second half that forced the sportsmanship rule.

Lady War Eagles can’t rest on 2-0 start Rogers Heritage started 7A-West Conference play with two victories before spring break, but coach Craig Frank said the Lady War Eagles have plenty of work left to do.

“We’ve still got 12 games left and we’re looking at it like we’re zero and zero,” Frank said. “We will focus on the next 12, not what we’ve done in the past. Being 2-0 is a great start, but we can’t rest on that. we’ve got to keep building on that."

Springdale Har-Ber beat Foley, Ala., 10-1 Monday night in its first game of the Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Brady Patrick struck out 12 in six innings to earn the victory for Har-Ber (3-1). Blaze Brothers, Caleb Kimbel and Brandon Still each had two hits for the Wildcats while Brothers, Adam Scoggins and Caleb Grace drove in two runs apiece.

Har-Ber continues tournament play today with games at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Lady War Eagles claim Paragould Invitational title Rogers Heritage found the back of the net often over the weekend in northeast Arkansas to cruise to the Paragould Invitational title.

Senior Emily Seiler scored a hat trick as the Lady War Eagles blanked Class 6A Jonesboro 8-0 in the finals on Saturday.

Cearra McPherson struck out nine in seven innings to lead Springdale Har-Ber to a 9-2 victory over Huntsville Monday.

McPherson was also effective at the plate, where she had two hits and four RBI. Kami Carpenter added two hits for the Lady Wildcats, who won for the first time in five games.


Van Buren grabbed an 8-0 lead after two innings and defeated Springdale Har-Ber 11-1 Friday in a game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Har-Ber fell to 0-4, including a 16-0 to Greenwood on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats are rebuilding after losing three four-year starters from a team that finished 15-10 last spring.

Van Buren outhit Har-Ber 9-3 and the Lady Wildcats made four errors. McKennah Sikes earned the victory after beating Rogers Heritage, 14-2, on Thursday.

Har-Ber will return home Monday against Huntsville at 4:30 p.m.

The opponents are set for the Springdale Har-Ber boys and girls, who each will begin state tournament play as a No. 5 seed.

The Har-Ber girls will face Little Rock Central at 4 p.m. Wednesday followed by the Har-Ber boys against West Memphis at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Central girls (25-2, 12-2) started the game ranked No. 2 in the state, but the Lady Tigers will likely fall after losing by 12 points to North Little Rock for the second time this season. Kia Williams scored 23 points on Friday when Central lost 68-56 to North Little Rock.

AN+BKH-SOUTH-HARB+04 Springdale Har-Ber needs one victory but could use two during the final week of the regular season.

Har-Ber can clinch a playoff spot with a win at Fort Smith Northside on Tuesday or a victory at home against Rogers Heritage on Friday. Har-Ber is 6-6 in the league while Northside, Springdale and Southside are each 5-5.
