Tweets of the Week 1.31.17

Also known as "National Signing Day," Wednesday marks the beginning of the week-long national signing period. That's crowded Twitter timelines more than usual with visits, offers and pledges for the past few weeks.

We'll get to all of those in a bit.

But first, the ARPreps.com Tweet of the Week comes from Prairie Grove junior softball player Ali Edgar. She's been a regular with her witty tweets, but this one was extra funny — especially because she's tweeting about a teacher named "Mileham." That may be Tigers baseball coach Chris Mileham, which makes the exchange even more comical:

West’s Henry named Athlete of the Week

Bentonville West's A-Shaundi Henry is the first player to earn ARPreps.com Athlete of the Week honors despite not hitting a field goal.

Tweets of the Week 1.24.17

We're taking a little different slant on the ARPreps.com Tweets of the Week this time around.

Instead of singling out a "Tweet of the Week," we're giving the award for "Tweets of the Week" to Fayetteville quarterback Taylor Powell, who thankfully shared his wild roller coaster ride of a week with the rest of the world via Twitter.

Powell's week began with something expected by many — and ended with something unexpected.

It started with Powell winning the Landers Award, which annually is given to the top high school player in the state. Based on Powell's accomplishments (two-time state champ and 7A record … Continue Reading ››
