2017 Playoff Scenarios — One Week Remains

Many of the playoff scenarios involving Northwest Arkansas' football teams began to take shape after Friday's games.

Some of them are pretty simple. Some of them still have some interesting twists about them, and some teams must face the reality that basketball season will start as scheduled.

It's that time of year again, because eight games are now in the books and only two games remain.

It's time to see how things are shaping up as far as playoff berths and seedings go for teams in the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's coverage area.

Division I Football Report: Week 8

One thing Bentonville wants to stress more these days is the need to score more points in the early stages of its games.

The Tigers (5-2, 4-0) had scored only three points during the first quarter of their first six games. That changed last week when Bentonville scored two touchdowns en route to its 49-21 win over Springdale High.

NWA Fall Sports Notebook — Week 6

Bentonville High

A seventh-place finish at last weekend's Chile Pepper Festival helped Bentonville's boys cross country team attain its goal during the meet and had Tigers coach Mike Power encouraged.

"I think we have a strong team, and I think the boys know that," Power said. "They get their energy from within themselves. One of our goals was to finish in the top seven, and we just scraped into that because we knew were up against some pretty good teams.
