Shiloh Opening Drew Plenty Of Interest

Jeff ConawayBen Mayes, the president of Shiloh Christian School, said Tuesday that more than 40 coaches from more than 20 states applied for the head football coaching position. Mayes said after an exhaustive search, the list of candidates was whittled down to 8, then down to three finalists, then finally one as Jeff Conaway was formally introduced as the Saints' new coach. Conaway Named New Shiloh Christian Coach

Jeff Conaway, a former offensive coordinator at Shiloh Christian, was named the Saints' head coach on Tuesday.
Jeff Conaway, a former offensive coordinator at Shiloh Christian, was named Tuesday as the Saints’ new head football coach. Conaway replaces former coach Josh Floyd, who was hired two weeks ago as the new football coach at Hewitt-Trussville, Ala. Conaway has been the head coach at Greene County Tech in Northeast Arkansas, where he compiled a 26-37 record, including 2-8 last season. AN FBH-WEBB-HARB 09-07 The 2013-14 school year hasn't even ended for some students (how are those snow days looking now, right?) and already we are looking ahead to when school and prep football returns.

The start of a new scheduling cycle is always interesting because teams are playing different opponents, especially in nonconference. These games are, for the most part, two-year agreements.

AN BBH-HARB ROGERSSpringdale Har-Ber junior left-handed pitcher Weston Rogers was named the All-NWA Media Newcomer of the Year for Class 7A/6A schools. Rogers missed last season with an elbow injury, but returned this season to help the Wildcats advance to the 7A state tournament. He has verbally committed to Arkansas.
