’s Tweets of the Week: Dec. 5-11

He didn’t come home with a state championship, but Pea Ridge quarterback Jakota Sainsbury earned — perhaps — an award almost as distinguished when he became the first player to repeat Tweet of the Week honors.

Less than 48 hours after Sainsbury and the Blackhawks lost 54-37 to Warren in the Class 4A state championship, the junior took to Twitter with this masterpiece that showed he still kept his sense of humor despite the defeat.

There was plenty for everyone to tweet about over the past week, but let’s take a look at a few more from Pea Ridge’s historic first title game appearance:

Even more heartbreaking than the Blackhawks’ loss was the passing of Gravette player Lane Killion after a battle with leukemia. Pea Ridge wore Lane’s No. 81 on their helmets during the championship and two players from other schools, Springdale’s Layne Hutchins and Huntsville’s Ty Bohannon, could sympathize with the Lions’ loss after losing friends of their own:

Moving onto a much lighter topic, Huntsville’s Delanie Tipton had one of the funniest tweets from the past week:

Something about this simple tweet from Bentonville West’s Stefan Banda caught our attention, perhaps because we were surprise he even know about the dance that was “a thing” well before he was born. Still, we’d love to see Stefan offer up video evidence to support this claim:

Hutchins, the Springdale quarterback, continues to have fun with his recovery from ankle surgery:

Another funny tweet came from Farmington sharp-shooter Matt Wilson. Just look at that pic:

Springdale Har-Ber’s Trey Smith also used a childhood pic to post the best “HBD” tweet from the past week:

Also from Har-Ber, junior middle linebacker Oliver Nasilai was proud of his squad’s postseason accolades. We could’ve posted dozens of similar tweets on postseason awards — trust us, there were plenty — but found this one to be the best of the bunch:

One more from Har-Ber, this from a confident Austin Garrett as the 6-foot-4 freshman stakes a claim for the top spot in his recruiting class:

That leads us into a fairly active week for recruiting related tweets with offers and in-homes to some of our brightest prospects. If we missed any, always feel free to send tweet at or send a DM to @NWACappy:
